Mount Laundrymore Conquered!

Ok, for the record, I tried to post this last night but I was having technical difficulties with Blogger.

Although I have been slowed down a bit since the foot surgery, I managed to conquer the mountain range of laundry from the night before.  And as evidence of said action, here 'tis:

Time To Come Clean

I had everyone bring their dirty laundry to the laundry room and by the time I finished sorting it looked like a mountain range (and yes, the washer and dryer are both full at the time of this picture).  You would think that I hadn't done laundry in a month, but this is just over a week's worth people!  Although they are smaller, my kids make so much more dirty laundry than Bruce and I.  Not sure how that happens.  So, if you need me, I will be at home, folding clothes.

We love Wii

With Wii at least we get up off the couch when we play video games.  Wii should give "style points" too, whatcha think?

Time to start taking down the Christmas decorations

Knowing myself pretty well, I can warn you up front that from time to time I will feel unencumbered to give out unsolicited advice.  Be forewarned! :)

In an attempt to not have to reinvent the wheel every year, about 5 years ago I started taking pictures of my home after I finished decorating it for Christmas.  My thought being that by taking pictures that I could refer to when it was time to drag everything out again I would help jog my memory and speed up the amount of time I spent getting everything in just the right place.  It has served that purpose well, but more importantly is that I have started to establish a pictorial history of our home at Christmas time.  I can see glimpses of evolving home projects over the years, home decorating do and don'ts, and catch kids and pets unaware.  I love reviewing these pictures.  So, my unsolicited advice for today:  go around and take pictures of your home decorated before you begin the dismantling process.  Digital pics are practically free, you don't have to print them off, and it is another way to document a slice of you family life.

Happy New Year!

Started out the new year with friends and good food.  I spared the friends my camera lens and just snapped a quick (and unfortunately out of focus) picture of my plate before digging in.  Looks like I should have good luck and good fortune covered for the year.

Get ready, get set...

Well the new blog is all set up and ready to go!  It is now a few minutes until we begin a new year.  2011 promises to be an adventure - lots of things in the planning stages.  By this fall I will have two children in high school (when did this happen?  really!  They were just babies!), I am planning at least one more trip out of the country.  My son will be going to Philmont this summer and the rest of us plan to vacation out west when we pick him up.  I am also looking forward to the seeing what I can make out of the mundane, everyday picture - some of these pictures might be the most interesting in the long run.  Thanks for tagging along.  I hope you enjoy what you see.
